The Rainy Day Messiah said:

"A blacksmith you say? A respectful profession. Perhaps I shall be able to see your work soon enough."

Dawud's eyes brightened at that. Avoiding any mention of Arthur, Lancelot was quite a pleasant man. Not much different than some of his former soldiers. He chuckling, recalling something one of his buddies had told him once - and Dawud had thought he was a smart guy.

"There are four types of people who join the military. For some, it's a family trade. Others are patriots, eager to serve. Next, you have those who just need a job. Than there's the kind who want a legal means of killing other people."

That was until the sage CO had revealed he was a Tom Cruise fan; and the rest was history. The actual quote was just that, a quote. It's accuracy was iffy at best, heck, badass one liners are essential to make an action movie. He idly recalled the time he had used Ethan Hunt as an alias in London and the laughter the clerk had given him.

"I like working with metal. When all you do is destroy, sometimes it's good to slow down and take some time to create something," Dawud smiled. "Like a family. My parents have been bugging me to get hitched for a while, but I'm already engaged to Uncle Sam," at the tilt of Lancelot's helm, he clarified, "My country, the USA. I guess the grail gave you what you needed to know, but..."

Sighing, he nodded.

"Best to tell you this somewhere private."

Lancelot would need to know Dawud's mission. No point in lying now.

The Rainy Day Messiah said:

then I shall claim the bottom bed."

Dawud wanted to laugh, he really did. But he held it in. It wasn't like Lancelot would understand the joke, of course, but he smiled nonetheless. "Sounds good to me, so I might as well spill the beans."

Checking his surroundings, he leaned forward. The room had already been scanned for bugs - which there was none of, so he used his servant-master bond. Telepathy was very useful.

'I'm here in Chaldea to recruit talent - a side goal, really, but... yeah. Might as well say it. The FATE system, I want to figure out how it works, and send some stuff back home, but the two of us together aren't really mages, heh. So I don't know what I'll tell my boss. I'm workshopping the whole idea right now, but your Noble Phantasm... Knight of Owner? I think I can get some pretty good readings off it. Does it work on guns?"

Dawud had already flicked open one of the many crates he had brought with him. Special prototypes assembled from 'secret research' - he suspected Area 51, considering some of the leaks he had seen floating the Internet, but it really was a work of art. Clicking the modified M4A1 carbine together, he held it up.

"Specifically modified to handle large amounts of prana, along with special RPG bullets," Dawud explained, placing it on the table, and motioning Lancelot closer. "It was made to supplement minor Magecraft that anyone with Magic Circuits could use." But with a Heroic Spirit of Lancelot's level using a Mystic Code built off such a concept, naturally it could pose a great threat. Clicking another case open - this one was something he really wanted to see, Dawud held up a tall wide cannon with both of his hands.

"And this bad boy," excitement leaking into his tone, "is a modified FGM-148 Javelin tank destroyer. Of course, with Magecraft, the external Command Launch Unit could be replaced, so we've got a lot more compact build. I made these myself though," Dawud said, lifting up the warheads. Crafted with a silver casing and the typical HEAT ordinance, I'd say the added enchantments give it that added might." He had made with the assistance of his superior's Runecraft skills, but the warhead was purely of his own design. Using a water shell that diffused the moment it reacted to the explosive internals to use his Water Element to it's fullest - wait.

Lancelot of the Lake.

That meant Berserker could use it to it's fullest as well!

"All the magecraft only lets it pack a bigger punch, though. Just pull the trigger, and BOOM! Game over for whatever unlucky soul is on the other end of this gun. Of course, now that I know your identity, we could make more specialized equipment, a sword first, probably...." Dawud said with a massive grin. "But, what do you think, partner?"

"There's Miyamoto Musashi's Book of Five Rings, as well as a few history books about my nation's development. And if you're interested in pop culture and its trends, I have some Light Novels, too! And of course, books on Mythology, the basics of the local faiths - My own is technically a foreign one to them despite the universal claims of God - and finally, what I know about their Magecraft."

"Good, good! Reading is a blessing, Master, and you should enjoy it to the fullest. I am happy that in the modern age it is so easily available." He smiled. "As for faiths, I've seen quite a few. In fact, I myself could have been called a God once! Serapis, that was the name then... quite an interesting little experiment. Perhaps with your help, we could remake such a thing." Ptolemy could never say to learning about new cultures, "We might even be able to try this idea of yours, young one. Though I am curious where such big wishes came from."

Reaching into his long cloak, he withdrew his favorite book, flipping it open. Checking the room, he found no bugs, and smiled. "Now then, perhaps you can give me a demonstration of your Magecraft, Master? If we are to plan ahead, best for the both of us to know our capabilities."
