Dear Workday Consultants, For the love of God, stop putting this table in your resume. I see 653589 people doing this, which causes multiple problems: 1. Your resume looks just like everyone; why should I spend more time reading yours? 2. It’s so hard to read when I am skimming 3. There are a bunch of non-Workday information I don’t care about 4. You try to say you can handle all Workday modules, which I know is not true 5. Anyone can list these skills, SHOW me instead through your bullet points and resume accomplishments

Thanks for sharing. As someone in the HR/HRIS/HCM world, having worked in several systems including Workday. I just want to let you know that for your bullet point number 4, it is very much possible that someone can handle All workday modules. This is often true for SME teams or individuals that have to assist with troubleshooting, testing and overall process improvement. They may not be an expert on All modules but they can have a very good understanding. Would you also mind showing samples of how someone can tranform the tables above to bullet points that clients would appreciate or recruiters. We can always learn and improve.

Does anyone know how to format my resume so that Workday will read it into their form correctly?90% of the jobs that I apply to through LinkedIn:1) Take me to the company's Workday portal2) Give me the option to upload my resume or complete the web form3) Once I have uploaded my resume, attempt to read it into their webform, but fail4) Edit the form as if uploading the document was never an option to begin with. There is nothing weird about my resume, someone must have solved this problem already.

💡 A thought experiment: Imagine if entering heaven required a Workday candidate account 👇 ⚖ After passing, your soul elevates to somewhere beyond. Suddenly your deeds are being weighed by an omnipresent being.😯 A voice beckons that it's time to create a Workday candidate account and upload a tailored resume. In awe, you comply immediately.📜 👀 Upon review, the resume parse was arse, and every line is completely bonkers. No, your first name is not, in fact, January 2021.Realizing you'll have to painstakingly update each field, are you completing the application? Or are you facing eternity with a quiet dignity?--😆 if you've recently been on the job hunt and get this joke, please click that 'Funny' reaction 😅 #humor #workday #candidate #experience #tech #resume #jobhunt

ATTENTION EMPLOYERS: Stop using Workday for job applications. It is the most cumbersome and arduous of all job platforms; not to mention it is easily the worst at parsing resumes. I am tired of recreating my resume after I've already uploaded a perfectly formatted PDF or .doc. While you're at it HR people, please read your own job listings as they appear online. I can't tell you how many times I have answered the same diversity questions twice.

Shout out to the Workday job application platform for making you upload a CV, attempting to duplicate and pre-populate (badly) a page with information needlessly parsed from the CV, then having you spend twice as long fixing the formatting as it would have been to write it out manually (again needlessly, you've submitted a CV).Good software adds value and saves time, big fat fail in both regards here.

Today, I want to address a frustration that many of us have experienced while using the Workday platform for job applications - attaching a resume and having to retype all the information. We all know the drill. You spend hours crafting the perfect resume, highlighting your skills and experiences, only to be faced with the daunting task of attaching it to every single job application on Workday. You’re forced to create a new username and password for EVERY company Workday represents. And if that wasn't enough, Workday makes us retype all the information from our resume into their online forms! It's a time-consuming nightmare that leaves us feeling frustrated and exhausted. There must be a solution on the horizon. We need Workday and other companies to step up and make the job application process less time-consuming. We need a seamless integration with platforms like LinkedIn, where our profiles automatically populate the required fields on Workday. This would eliminate the need for manual data entry and save us precious time.Imagine a world where we can simply click a button and have all our relevant information seamlessly transferred to the job application form on Workday. No more retyping, no more attaching resumes - just a quick and efficient way of presenting ourselves professionally online. So, I urge Workday and other companies to listen to the frustrations of job seekers and implement a system that simplifies the application process. Let's make it easier for talented professionals to showcase their skills and experiences without the unnecessary hassle.XoxoAlivia Wood

Workday is far and away the most common applicant management system I interact with while #applying to open positions. It is also the only platform that has never once been able to parse my #ATS formatted #resume correctly, while plenty of competing platforms have no problem with it.I could understand if it consistently parsed incorrectly in the same way, and there was a way for me to re-format my resume through trial and error. But why is it that every company using the workday applicant portal parses it incorrectly a -different- way each time? Why is there no consistency in how the system reads a document? And why are companies offering applicant management systems not publishing guidelines on properly formatting your resume so that the system reads it's information correctly more consistently? This would benefit both your clients buying your service as well as the applicants who may have a first impression of your software in how it fails to read their documents. The industry move to ATS systems have already crushed the soul, humanity, and individuality out of all of your applicants in how they represent themselves in their resumes, could you at least throw us a bone and give us a guideline on how to write a resume that your systems are capable of reading?

Workday Resume Tips ✏ 📃 💡 ⭐ Include a Summary or Objective: Start your resume with a brief summary/objective statement that highlights your key qualifications and career goals.⭐ Tailor Your Resume: Customize your resume for each job application by highlighting relevant skills, experiences, and achievements that align with the job description.⭐ Highlight Key Skills/Certifications: Include a dedicated skills section where you list relevant skills and/or any Workday certifications you have. ⭐ Workday Module Experience: Highlight the modules that you have experience in, as many positions will be module specific. ⭐ Quantify Achievements: Whenever possible, quantify your achievements with numbers to showcase your experience e.g. "Managed a team of 10 employees" or "Ran 4 Merit cycles".⭐ Use Action Verbs: Start bullet points with strong action verbs to describe your accomplishments and responsibilities, e.g. implemented, developed or configured.⭐ Keep it Concise: Aim to keep your resume concise and focused, ideally no more than one or two pages long. ⭐ Update Regularly: Always keep your resume updated to ensure that it is ready to send out to new opportunities.#resumewritingtips #workdayjobs #careergrowth #careerdevelopment

As someone who regularly reviews Workday profiles for different positions, I can attest that your resume is the single most crucial factor that can either make or break your chances of landing a Workday job. Unfortunately, most of these resumes are prepared using the format provided by staffing agencies, which, in reality, diminishes your opportunities rather than enhancing them. Few points below:The Don'ts:❌I know it all: I create supervisory orgs, build matrix and composite reports, can do US Payroll, Benefits as well as Integrations 😕😕 You can't know everything and will probably fail in the first few questions itself. ❌ Do not copy paste resume: Spend good time on it and include concepts you know and can explain with real time experience. Old age training examples won't land you a job. ❌Skip Irrelevant Information: Exclude outdated experiences or skills that don't add value. Keep it concise and to the point. The Do's:✅ Your Relevant Experience: Do not fabricate and add Workday experience. Rather, add your relevant ERP/SaaS experience which will support your case for a Workday job. ✅ Tailor Your Resume to the Job: Customize your resume for each application, aligning it with the job requirements.✅ Start with a Strong Summary: Begin with a powerful professional summary that reflects your career objectives. You can book a time with me using Link below. Will confirm if available during that time else will propose available slots. Why keep it paid: to keep it for serious candidates only.

A while back, I posted about the creation of a resume template that all recruiters in the world would agree to use. Never going to happen. But, I have a new idea!Workday iCIMS BambooHR etc could release templates that outline the exact format needed for their ATS to accurately parse the information from a PDF or Word doc. One of the biggest complaints from job seekers is the lack or inaccuracy of parsing within ATS that causes extra work during the application process. Releasing templates would:1. Provide a better candidate experience 2. Pull the rug out from predatory “beat the ATS” charlatans 3. Provide recruiters with standard resume formatting across the applicant poolThoughts?(This is what I think about at 1am after having sugar with dinner.)#ATS #BeatTheBot #JobSeekers #applicants #CandidateExperience

Question for all those in HR from all those looking for a job. When applying via Workday, why do you have to recreate your entire resume within the application when you have already uploaded your resume? That doesn't make sense to me. Perhaps someone can explain the reason for this. I'm sure others looking for a job are wondering the same thing. 🙄 🙃 Thanks!#jobapplication #jobsearch #openforwork #applyingforajob
