#1:Create an Inviting Front Entry

Your front porch is like the book cover to your home. It gives visitors their all-important first impression. Make it speak of your unique style. I love to use a mix of fresh and faux flowers. A special wreath adds a perfect accent. I also love a small spot to sit. This is not only visually inviting but useful too.

I created interest on my front porch by adding levels using inexpensive crates. To mix things up I use the crates in a variety of ways, as a cute container for plants, or as a stage for items, set either horizontally or vertically.

#2: Create a Theme

Give your space a harmonious feel by creating an overall theme to your room. The first signs of spring are always the daffodils, so this was a natural theme to choose for my spring decor idea or theme. What a fun way to bring the garden feel indoors. I like to get creative and set flowers in a variety of containers. The mix of containers adds interest. The continuity of the daffodil theme creates harmony throughout the space.

The vintage ladder I found at a local antique store is such a fun way to display seasonal plants. The new black and white rug adds a fun graphic pop to change things up.

I have a great time styling and restyling this console cart. Every season this cart gets a new display. Again, the repetition of color helps the room feel organic and helps unify the space.

#4: Dress Up a Focal Point

My newly stenciled fireplace made for an ideal spring decor backdrop. Take advantage of your home’s unique focal points. Freshen up everyday decor with fun spring florals, real or faux.

Another focal point (as I’ve mentioned) is my cart. Plainly, it is one of my favorite spots to decorate. This spring I’ve given it a new name: my flower cart. It’s not really a “flower cart,” but since this is how I love to decorate it the name was a natural evolution.

#5: Bring on The Greenery

When I think of spring decor ideas I think of plants and flowers. And in my mind, more is more in this area. I love to really make a statement with my florals and greenery. I don’t have a green thumb so most of my greenery and florals are faux, but I do mix in real to keep people guessing.

#6: Spring Decorating Ideas for Living Room

Even though there is a lot going on in this room the simplified color palette of neutrals and green create a harmonious feeling. The rich dark wood of my massive coffee table grounds the otherwise light bright and airy room.I love how I let the ferns lead the way. I began with the ferns and chose all the pillows and accessories based around the mood they created. This is one of my favorite restyles of this room.

#7: Create Levels of Greenery

If you look at the photo above, you’ll see greenery and flowers everywhere. I created this layered spring decor look by adding greenery at all different vertical levels. I began with the coffee table; the next level up is the cart behind the couch; next is the kitchen table; next the wall wreath and hanging planters; and finally, the top level is the eucalyptus-covered chandelier. The effect is like an indoor green house.

#8: Add Festive Holiday Details

For special holidays I have fun adding festive elements to my regular vignettes. Here is my gallery wall with a fresh look for the season, all dressed up for Easter.

And here was another cute vignette for spring. Even though bunnies say Easter, if you adore them, they also can say spring all season long. Make up your own “rules” for decorating. After all, the only person you must please is you.

#9: Bring in Texture

The key to success for this vignette was adding tons of texture. I kept the color palette strictly greens and neutrals. Real plants help bring this vignette to life. Continuing the greenery theme well-chosen pillows add to the garden feel. I think I’m going to love these pillows all year long.

Here I kept the color scheme strict again, using only greenery. This allows the beauty of all the wood to really stand out.
